Safe Routes to School Grant

Got this email today. Thought I would share it.

Good Morning!
Some of you may have already heard the news...but it has been officially anounced. Cleveland NSC, Kate Ervin, and The City of Dayton have worked on the Safe Routes to School grant for a while, and the Cleveland neighborhood has been awarded $125,813! $100,000.00 will go towards infrastructure: improving pedestrian access to school by updating crosswalks, walks, lighting near school and park, adding a bike rack...etc. $25,813 will go towards education, encouragement and enforcement leg of Dayton's overall plan. Cleveland NSC will be hosting it's first Bike Rodeo tomorrow for Healthy Kids Day!
Have a great day!

Side note: That is $100,000 that is going to be spent on improvements in the vicinity of Cleveland School. Walnut Hills is included in that area!

not sure where to post this but does anyone have suggestions on how to hush a dog that barks for hours at a time on illinois? does our neighborhood have noise agreements?

We don't have noise agreements but you can call 333-cops and file a complaint when the dog is barking. The trick is to get your neighbors to call at the same time so that the number of calls for that address increases the chance of an acceptable response time. The owner will get a ticket if the police are called too often. If the property is a rental, you may want to get the landlord's phone number and give it to all the neighbors so you can all call the landlord at 1:00 AM if the dog is keeping you awake. This will often take care of the problem.
